It is Finished

I have been doing a lot of stuff and none of it is quilting.  Life has been busy, last week I wasn't home one night after work, and this week is going to be the same.

Here is my twister heart all finished.

3.4.2012 Finished!

I did have my monthly EQ7 club meeting on Saturday, this is a new club, and only our second month.  I have a really good bunch of gals in my club.  They are excited to learn which makes it fun to share and teach. 

I realized I haven't done very well with my plan to design quilt a week.  But that is how the best laid  plans of mice and (wo)men go some times! :-)

Borders Are On!

Since I really like the brown with the hearts I decided to use it.  It really took some math to get it done.  It was 8" wide and my border measures 2.5 cut, that is as wide as I could make it.  I was able to get the two short sides out of one cut, with a sliver off of each end.  I guess I have about 5 inches left from the two long borders.  I will use the same red for the binding.  I like it!

Heart Center Done!

I am previewing fabric for the border.  Too bad I don't have enough of the heart fabric for the borders.  I do like how the heart turned out.

Busy

Well truthfully I am always busy.  Recently I am feeling like I am a little two busy.  So to take steps towards being less busy I have gone to no mail on a few quilting list I have been on.  I wasn't contributing and some of the conversation I have no time for.  I want to spend time doing the important things. 
I have been doing a lot of scrapbooking of my family and their stories, that is really driving me, so I have been doing the pages.  One of these days I will post them. 

Last weekend and this weekend I tool some time for sewing.  I finished all the blocks for the Orion's Star quilt for Mr. B.  I even have the rows sewed together but still need to do the vertical seams.  No picture for this week's post. 

First Step

Last night I started a Twisted Heart.  I wanted to do it when I finished the wreath at Christmas time but decided it was a little early, now I am late.  Oh well. 

It is amazing how much time it takes to decide what 33 colors of red and pink you are going to use and then cut them into 3.5 inch squares.  Of course it doesn't help that I was watching Dances with Wolves, and had to read the subtitles.  I enjoyed watching it again. 

Half a twist

The first step I had finished before dinner today.  This is how far I made it before quiting for the night.  The twister is fun but only for small projects.
