Family Pages

Well I have been doing some scrapbooking, this time of my family and ancestors.
This lovely teenage girls is my Aunt Bea, my Mother's Sister.  I wanted to make her page very feminine. So I added pearls and sparkle glitter glue.  Her hair style is so fun!

Beatrice Ann Chaplin

I purchased this paper with cars on it just for this picture.  I think my cousin told me this was my great uncle Vic and a friend but the more I look at this picture I think it is another brother.  Not sure but that is what I am going with.  My second cousin in England is going to visit a nephew of these great uncles and hopefully he will be able to tell us more.  I don't know the make or year the car.

Great Uncles and a car

Again I used the Kiwi Lane Templates.

Remember my desk I set up in the front room.  Well the other day my two foster girls and I had a fun time in there, they colored as I created pages.  It has turned into our art room.

My Desk and It's New Life

About two weeks ago I had this brilliant idea. That I needed a place to scrapbook that wasn't in my sewing room.  I am not getting any sewing done because the scrapbooking is on the cutting table and I don't want to put it all away to cut fabric.  Especially since I need to add outside boarders to a quilt.

Bottom drawers with 8.5 x 11 paper
So I thought where could I do this.  A good friend offered me a desk and I thought I had a solution to my problem.  But when I got home and pulled into my garage I realized I had a desk, why don't I use that desk.

Middle drawer with punches
So I cleaned out the desk. I purchased this desk from DI (Deseret Industries) when I first moved to Arizona in 1984. I think I paid $100 for it, so it is not the fanciest roll top desk you have ever seen but guess what, it works.
Top drawers
This poor desk has been neglected  for many years.  It has been in the back food storage room, just holding old stuff.  For the last year since our remodel last March it has been in the garage.

Middle drawers and work area
The top right drawer has pens, most of them given to me by a good friend. The middle drawer has my Kiwi Lane Designing Templates, one of my favorite tools. Left drawer are mostly corner punches and some old punches, for flowers, circles, stars. Now it is in my front room, you know the room that is company ready all the time. It polished up very nicely.

Work area
The work space may be a little smaller than I would like but I would only make a bigger mess if I had more room.  You can see those two finished pages in yesterday's post.  The area works well.

Closed and Company Ready
The nice thing is I can close it up and I am ready for company and my creative mess is hidden.  It doesn't hold all my stuff but it does hold the things I use the most.

My cutting table is all cleaned off and I am going to go cut boarders now.
Have fun today! Happy Stitching or Scraping!

Family History Pages

On this first page, I have my grandmother on her graduating from nursing school.  I hate it when I finish a page, and see one of my page elements is crooked.  I never see it until it is on my computer screen.  Anyway, she was a nurse, so was my Mom who raised me was a nurse and I worked as a nurse for 46 years, making our combined history of nursing in my family a 107 years old.

Below is my younger brother, his wife Kathy & their first son Kevin.  Good looking family.

There are also some pictures of the younger me, making an appearance as Aunt Mary.

I also did some pages from back I 1959, when we first moved to Fort Lauderdale Florida. Here are my Mom and brothers.  She was expecting Eddie the youngest of us Hartmann Kids.

Working on my Wedding Album

Last Saturday was scrapbooking day with my friends.  I began working on our Wedding pictures there and worked on them during the week.  I guess after being married 21 years it is about time to finish them. I have about 2 more pages to finish.

Our Family

Richard's Sisters

More of the sisters

I hate that my scanner trims the pages I scan, the left side of this page has a nice lace design.

Lots of his family

More family

You can double click on the pictures and see them bigger.

Results of my Scrapbooking Day with Friends

Well I finished a few more pages for Kierra's Wedding Album.  The black and red pages I did on Friday afternoon.

The Haunted Moon pages I did at my friend's home on Saturday.  About 4 or 5 of us get together once a month and scrap.  I really like how these two pages turned out, the black and silver look very sophisticated.

Then it was time to work on some family history pages.
Yours truly and my baby brother.

On my baby picture page I used one of my new framing templates from Kiwi Lane and punched the white with pink polka dots paper to thread my pink ribbon with white polka dots.
Eddie is eleven years young than I am.  He is a grown man with a son of his own but he will always be my baby brother.  There are two brothers between us. I always felt closer to Ed when he was young. He was too young to give me as much grief like my other two brothers. Don't you just love the plaid shirt with the bow tie?

I think I did a good job with the girl and boy themes.
Well it is time for bed!!  Have a great week!

New Fun Website!

Today while checking email I had an email from Digital Scrapper.  I don't digitally scrapbook but I like to see some of her ideas.  On her blog she tells you about a link that makes text into shapes.  Her post gives lots of details on how to use the other site.

So of course I had to try it and of course I than had a make a scrapbook page.  I guess I should take a picture of Mr. B and me to add to the page.

Site to make the text shape is Festiste.  Just try it is fun!!!!

Script in a heart shape
See I did leave room to add a picture.  The text just tells the dates we meet, first date, when we married and that 21 years later we are still going strong!

That was fun! I had to share.  I bet you could print it on fabric for a quilt label also.

Well have fun what ever you do!!

Wedding Album Series # 6

Happy Monday everyone!

Look at how happy the bride is!!  She was so nervous before the wedding, now she looks happy and relaxed.

Maybe this page should be before the first page?  I found that trying to sequence the pages was hard.

Outside the Wedding Chapel, with your name in lights.

Your name and the date alternated.

Same as the other picture just different background paper.  I really like the plastic keys I found to put on these pages with the keys.

Well I was looking to see how many more pages I have and after todays five pictures and I only have five more pictures of pages to edit and post. The end is in sight.

Wedding Album Series # 5

I don't know about you but my week sure was a busy one.  I have been able to do some fun things again, which makes me feel like I am back among the living.  I taught an EQ 7 class Beyond the Basics.  I only had two students but they were excited and learned lots and we had fun and I did something besides be at home or do errands, so it was worth it.  Today I am going to the scrapbook convention.  And tomorrow Mr. B and I will have a date for our anniversary which was in March but I was too sick to go out.
