Christmas Sewing

Of course, I didn't start my Christmas sewing until the week of Christmas.  So it will be no surprise to you that it didn't get all done.

Bigger Bit has admired this horse I had on my design wall.  I had forgotten to reverse it for a quilt I made, so I just kept it. She is really into horses.  I sure hope she will have some in her life.
She cleans at a stable now to ride. So I made this little pillow for her room.  Her favorite color is teal and I found this fun batik in my stash.

Here is her cat Sugar enjoying some quiet time in my sewing room.

Bigger Bit really liked her pillow!

The other two pillows I am making is for my big daughter Kierra and her husband Will.  They are really into skeletons so when I saw these in my LQS, I got them.

This one was easy to quilt, I just did meandering.

This one was a bear only because it took so long to quilt.  All that echoing. But I am pleased with how it turned out. Now just to make them into pillows.  They were both liked by Kierra and Will. They felt they will go nice with their new couch.

A Sewing Weekend

I sure enjoy the weekends I have when I don't have to go anywhere or have a long list of errands to do. I this weekend was one of those weekends.  I enjoy sewing in my sewing room in the morning.  My room is at the front of the house that faces West.  When I sew in the morning I open my blinds and I enjoy looking out.  Here is my machine all ready to go.  Maybe one of these days I'll have someone take a picture of me at my machine.

While I was busy having fun sewing the boys, Mr. B and out son Klint were busy finishing the new bookcase in the Master bedroom.  It is an odd size space but I think this is the best use of the space.  Of course I need to unload all the boxes of books.
Of course I worked on my witch's hat.  I finished all the rows and added the two borders.  That outer border is a directional print and I did get the spiders upside down on one of the long sides and I had to do some frog stitching.  :-(  I don't like frog stitching.  But all's well that ends well.  That stripped fabric on the left is for my binding.

I also had fun today teaching my friend in Florida how to use EQ7.  We use Skype.  I point my camera at my computer screen and she points her camera at her screen when she finishes drawing what ever we are working on.  It is a lot a fun and we get together every other week or so.  I love technology!

Travel Sewing

Hotel Sewing Again
I did find a few minutes to do some hand sewing between work and site seeing.  I did the sewing mostly after work each night to unwind before going to sleep. This is what it looked like when I first set up.

What I accomplished
And here is what I accomplished.  The Yo-Yo's are all tacked down and the centers are appliqued down and some of the small ones are also appliqued down.

Yo-Yo total

Here are all the Yo-Yos I have finished (10) or almost finished (5) as of this morning, and (10) with just centers.  I spent time Saturday and last evening
making more Yo-Yo's the supply sure seem to dwindle fast.
