Wedding Album Series # 5

I don't know about you but my week sure was a busy one.  I have been able to do some fun things again, which makes me feel like I am back among the living.  I taught an EQ 7 class Beyond the Basics.  I only had two students but they were excited and learned lots and we had fun and I did something besides be at home or do errands, so it was worth it.  Today I am going to the scrapbook convention.  And tomorrow Mr. B and I will have a date for our anniversary which was in March but I was too sick to go out.

Sewing Time

Well I am feeling better and coughing less.  I am so glad this was a long drawn out cough.  I am not done yet but better.  I'll be so glad to be off the steroids and the nebulizer treatment that makes me shake.

I actually found some sewing time.  I feel alive again!!

Charity Block

First I finished these two charity blocks I am doing with a group of my quilt friends.  We are making the quilt for a woman's shelter, the Fresh Start program.  We each are making two blocks and they will alternate.  We are all using red, cream and tans.  I think it will look very nice when completed.  Hopefully the recipient will feel valued and find more courage to lead a better life.

It was General Conference weekend and a good time to do some hand work.  I also decided in the evening once the foster kids are in bed and can do hand work as I sit with Mr. B and watch TV.  Since the kids bedroom is next to my sewing room, I can't sew when they go to bed.   So I found this project and started working on it again.

Yo-Yos

Yes that is right, I started this two years ago. I forget how many I have done and how many I have to go yet, but I am more than half way.  I have 12 blocks here and I sewed down the centers on two and tacked on eight small yo-yos to each block.  Not bad for a weekend.  The littlest girl helped me pick colors for a couple of blocks and she even tacked down a couple of Yo-Yos.
Next I will applique all those Yo-Yos.
Now to go grocery shopping and do more laundry.
Happy Stitching!

Wedding Album Series # 3

Well I had a very busy Friday and Saturday.  I took my foster kids to the Zoo, and we had a grand time and did a lot of walking and of course it was the first day we hit the 90s.  Too hot for me. I even did some sewing so I will post that later.

Back to the Wedding Album.

The happy couple walked in together on their first walk of their new life.

The fog machine adding atmosphere.

Kierra had her dad give her away.  Originally she didn't want to do this but I explained to her, that it is the only thing a Dad does and looks forward to doing for their daughter.  She was glad she did this for her Dad.

Just some pictures.

Well blogger is giving me fits today, I am having a hard time lining up my text with my pictures.   I think I made it!  Now to publish it falls apart again.

Wedding Album Series #2

Halloween 2009 10 PM.  These are the pictures we took before the wedding.  We were waiting in front of their hotel for the limousine to take us to the wedding chapel.  It was a vampire wedding.

Wedding Album Series #1

WOW I can't believe I have not posted in over a month.  I have been very sick with bronchitis and maybe asthma.  I never had trouble with asthma before but there are times I cough so hard I wheeze and can't get my breath.  Very scary.  I am on my third round of steroids and I am still coughing.  I am so tired of it.  Anyway I will see a pulmonologist on Friday.
Today I just wanted to do something more, so this is why I am posting.
In October I started a wedding album for my daughter and her husband.  I presented the album to them at Christmas, not finished.  Well last Wednesday the 27th of March, I finally finished it and gave it to them when we went to dinner to celebrate her birthday.
I really enjoyed doing this project, I had a lot of fun.  She really likes it so I am so glad I did it for her.
I will do a series of post over a week of all the pages.  Just because I am such a show off!
You may have seen some of these pages before but this time it will be in sequence.

Title page

I found a fun font to use called Slasher Heavy.  I used it for any journaling or labeling I did that wasn't in my handwriting.

The invitation.

The happy couple made their
own invitations.

The night before the wedding the two families meet for dinner to start the celebrating.  We meet at Tao Asian Bistro.

The bride and her Dad and Richard and I.  Sometimes I look at this hair cut and I think I should cut my hair.

Some Hand Stitching

Yes I have been doing a little hand stitching.  Mind you it isn't a lot but it did seem to take a long time.  And it isn't really quilt related but it is stitching.

Ready???

Web Page

Yes that is a spider web on a scrapbook page covered in spiders.  I think the spider who made this web was a little dizzy.  I used the  Sew Easy scalloped piercer tool, and the Sew Easy Circles tool.  I am sure with practice I could make it all line up better but done is better than perfect.

I buy a lot of my scrapbooking supplies from Scrapbook.com.  They have local pick up right here in Mesa which I really like.  No shipping and if I order early in the morning it is same day pick up.

Finished page.
This is my daughter's wedding on Halloween and there was a lot of fog in the chapel.  This is for her wedding album I am making.

Kierra's Flowers

This page I used the same circle tool on the edges only and the heart piercer.  There are three flowers in each corner, the third one is black.  It does show when you have the page in your hand.  Her flowers were black, perfect for her Halloween wedding.

Well that has been the extent of my sewing.  Now I have to work on my EQ 7 lesson for tomorrow.

Happy Stitching!
