Sunday Quilting Upate a Little Late

Here are my accomplishments for this week. Two Farmer's Wife Sampler Blocks.

And 14 pairs of pin wheels, I need 20 pairs, I'm further alone then I thought. Maybe I'll go make those pairs now!! Maybe not I want to play with Google Earth. If I counted right, which I'm sure I did, I still need to make 2 more pin wheels. Somehow there weren't enough. Oh well, no biggie.

Another pinwheel border joined, two more to go!!

A Busy Social Week

On Wednesday evening I took two of my great Nieces to dinner to celebrate our birthdays. I use to take them one at a time but life is busy when you are in school so a few years ago I started doing them together. Amy's birthday is 1/27, Heather's is 2/5 and mine is 2/12 so we celebrate our birthdays together. We always have a good time and we almost always eat fish since we all like it. Here is a picture of me with my new great great nephew, James.

Here is Amy with her son. I didn't get a picture of Heather who is also a beautiful young lady.

On Friday we had a little farewell dinner for Rob who is going to a different department in the same company.

This is Rob in the front.

Glenda is our social director and money counter. We all had cash, that's amazing.

I also went out to lunch on Saturday with Glenda, Kay, Gwen & Barb. I do enjoy those social times!

Man Cave Update

On Wednesday after work my husband was able to hang the door on the man cave.

It rained most of Saturday so they weren't able to dig the ditch for the electric wire from the main box to the man cave. So they worked inside instead. The have a good start on the wiring. Richard's brother is helping him and he was a journey man electrician.

Sunday Quilting Upate

I'm surprised I have as much sewing done as I do. It seems I have become addicted to working on my Genealogy. Me and my computer are very god friends now. I did take time to sew today, my brain was getting overloaded.

One of my friends just told me I had not done my update last Sunday. I found it in my draft list, so here it is better late than never. I had to check what I had accomplished last week, because I haven't accomplished much this week.

Man Cave Update

The man cave has walls!!! There are also electrical plug boxes on the inside of the walls. Now it looks like there has been some progress. In case you are wondering why the door is blocked with wood. It is blocked to keep the goats out. When Klint and Krystal came home to live they came with two goats, that now live in my back yard. They eat everything but the weeds. I think they should eat the weeds also, but I guess they don't because the weeds are getting tall.

Sunday Quilting Upate

I have been scanning my Farmer's Wife Sampler Blocks, so I decided to import them into Picasa and I made a collage of the blocks I completed this week. To bad I didn't make it to 8 blocks and it could have been even. It sure looks a lot neater then my blocks pinned to the design wall. Of course they look small. You can double click on the picture to enlarge the picture to see the blocks better. I now have a total of 26 blocks made.

I also was able to sew on my Washington Medallion borders, I finished the left side and started on the right side. The last kit came about a week ago or so. That will be the pin wheel border. At least that one isn't on point. It looks like there are two floating borders between the pin wheels and these blocks on point. I don't want to see another floating border for a long time after this project is finished.

I also stitched about 7 stitches into Will's Christmas stocking but I'll refrain from showing you a picture until I have something more to show.

I missed two days of work this week with my chest cold, I'm better but not perfect. So I better run off to bed to get my rest.

Man Cave update, this is an all in one. Richard has covered the all of the roof with tar felt and a layer of stuff that goes on the top and has gravel in it. So the roof is done. I didn't climb the ladder to get a picture, I'm just not that dedicated of a reporter.

Have a great week.

New Feature on Blogger

Blogger has added a new feature, just above this post you will notice a couple of links, one is Home, which is my main page and one is My First Quilts which is another page. You can make up to 10 pages. I will be adding more as time permits. I'm hoping to add some EQ6 tutorials and who knows what else. Enjoy!

You will find pages to add on the Posting tab where you add a new post, two tabs to the right, it is called Edit Pages. You can add pictures and all. The only thing I didn't find is spell check.

Week Five Personal Goals

I was so tired last night that I didn't post. I did remember to weigh in yesterday morning but remembered just in a nick of time. I have to admit I was very glad the scale was the same as last week, no gain no lost. I had been sick most of the week and stayed home two days from work. So I was lazy all week, I did not journal, I did not count my steps, I did not climb any stairs but I did not eat like a crazy woman. I ate different because I wasn't feeling well, lots of comfort food, grilled cheese sandwiches and chicken noodle soup, New England Clam chowder, lots of juice and such. I ate until full only, I didn't eat until stuffed, so that is good.
Today is a new day and a new start. So here is to a better week. Depending on how much I'm coughing will depend on how much walking and stairs I do. When ever I have a cold it goes to my chest and I can cough for weeks. Hopefully it won't be a lot of weeks.

Hopefully you are all doing well with your personal goals.

While home I did a lot of work on my Genealogy blog, go check it out.

Sunday Quilting Upate a Little Late

Well it has been a busy week, but I haven't done a lot of sewing. Some weeks are just like that. Friday night about 10 PM I said to self, "Self you need to go do some sewing" and I made two easy peasy blocks in about 45 minutes. The two on the right are Friday night's blocks and they are for my Farmer's Wife Sampler.
I went to the Sew, Quilt & Craft vendors show in Saturday and drove every long arm that was there. I had a lot of fun doing that. I don't know if I will ever own one but I can dream.
I have been very productive and going over my records I have on my family very closely and looking for things I need to fix and making lists of things I need to research. I have enjoyed it very much. I scanned some documents to make digital copies of the certificates I have.
I suddenly felt tired last night at 9 PM and went to bed. Very early for me but I was tired so I listened to my body and went to bed. I needed the sleep. Today I have some signs of a cold, I'm taking my Zicam so hopefully it will be a mild one. I left work early and tried to take a nap but the phone rang and that was that. I'm going to fix and easy dinner grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup and rest.
